Cupuacu Butter is a great butter. I only purchase Cupuacu from FNWL. It is the star ingredient in one of my CP soap recipes. It's one of my favorite recipes and my Mom's as well. I highly recommend this butter.
Excellent ingredient added to our blend of butters and oils for personal use.

I love this product. I use it on my natural hair to retain moisture and it makes my skin feel so soft. Not at all greasy on my hair or oily on my skin. A little goes a long way. I highly recommend. I will be ordering it again.

I like how this butter feels on my skin. It is very moisturizing, and it's not heavy or greasy. It almost reminds me of coconut oil but a much better quality.

Cupuacu Butter is hard and very emollient. It does not leave a greasy residue, so I like the way it feels on my skin. It also blends well when melted with other butters.
As usual I make these body butters to sell a couple to friends or give as a gift if someone''s birthday is coming. Mostly it goes to me, and it has to, as like Cupuahcu..You never know what you will get. I love pracaxi and assumed it would be of North western amazon rainforest quality. It was liquid except for the grittiness. very disapointing to spend money. I can''t make money off of it at all, so I must make myself gritty body butter...never buy again, can''t take the chance

Kathleen, it sounds like your Cupuacu Butter may have been exposed to some hot temperatures in your location or during transit. I did a weather lookup for your area and your temperatures are exceeding 90-95 degrees F at present. Butters are as unique as the botanicals they are derived from and some are more prone to melting than others. This butter is the highlight of my hand and body lotion. It is sooo... soothing and has a wonderful feel.
Excellent product. I wish there were some more recipes on the blog to help me use this better. In fact, I screwed up my recipe so badly, I had to reorder this again because I wasted a whole 4 ozs! This was definitely my human error in using the butter, but the butter was excellent and affordable enough that I could order another 4 oz to fix my mistakes.
Cupuacu Butter is extremely emollient. When I spread it on, all I can say is 'oooohhh.' It is a useful ingredient in my hair cream. Also...FNWL's customer service is beyond awesome. When my Cupuacu Butter arrived, it was below the ordered ounces. They promptly apologized and took care of the problem. Thank you!
This butter was so thick and creamy with a gritty type of texture. I am loving this. It is very moisturizing. I have used it in my hair and on my skin. It is great for dry skin.
This butter has been a good addition to my hair formulations. It has a nice consistency, and the natural odor is ok.
This butter gives a great shine to my afro textured my hair. I use it in my homemade pre-conditioner, and its sheen lasts for about a week. A little goes a long way. If you are looking for shiny hair, this butter will work.

One should be warned, however, that the smell is awful, and powerful at that.
For those in hot climates, be aware that dealing with FNWL's admittedly difficult packaging ended up with half my purchase all over my clothes and carpet, even though it had been inside for hours.

Kimberly, indeed, the butters do need to be kept in containers that are air tight. Otherwise, butters can melt and leak during transit or become rancid more quickly. If in a hot climate, it is important that you allow ample time for butters to return to their solid state (refrigeration can speed the process) before opening and then gently opening the lid by prying around the circumference with a spoon.
Personally, I love this butter but it may not be for everyone. The natural aroma is a little strong.
Very nice butter! Beautiful smooth, refined texture. Mild but pleasant aroma. Easy to use.
